David Shein emigrated from South Africa to Australia in November 1986to take up the position of National Sales Manager of Ozisoft. In July 1987 he established Com Tech Communications as a specialist supplier of networking and communication products. In August 2000, David sold Com Tech to Dimension Dataat a valuation in excess of $1billion, “arguably Australia’s first unicorn”. 

David recently published a book The Dumbest Guy at the Table: How IFounded Australia’s First Unicorn drawing upon his experience: on boards,hands-on business growth, investing in a portfolio of Australian growth businesses experience, and in life.  David’s two principles: “face reality as it is, not as it was or you wish it to be”, and “change before you have to”.
